Sorry for your issue. Please share the following details so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly.

• What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?
• The version of After Effects you're using.
• Details about your project. For example - what type of media you're working with, any third-party plug-ins, etc.

I did some research and found that a corrupted font or font cache could cause such issues. You can try removing a font if you've added one recently.
