why won't it render

I tried to render it, it went through the process, but it didn't show the name.avi like it did with my last project.

We need so much more information. Be specific in what were you trying to render, in what format, to where? What specifically happened? Did it crash? Did a different file sshow up? Was this out of After Effects or ME?
