X games cool text effect/ animation

Hi!

I know this is an old video but I wanted to learn how to do the text effect they do in this video. If anyone knows any tutorials, plugins, or presets I could use to achieve the text effects in the video I've linked below that would be awesome! I get all the video transition cuts but the titles are a mystery to me and would love any help on how I could do those!

I use Adobe After effects CC 2017 on a Mac OS X sierra if that helps

Maybe a plugin like trapcode Mir. Maybe freeform. Or this might be a 3D software.
