Add blending modes to the Fill Effect

A long time wish: The Fill effect becomes much more versatile, when it could blend with the layer it is applied to. In the current version, it replaces the layer content completely. The effects Opacity setting acts as layer Opacity rather than the effect's Opacity.

Totally agree — adding blending modes to the Fill effect would make it far more flexible. It’s surprising that it still replaces the layer entirely instead of blending. Hopefully the team considers this for a future update!
