exclude an layer from the adjustment layer

untill now AE don't have this very usefull feature "exclude an layer from the adjustment layer" . i think this feature should be in after effect. now adjustment layer will affect all layers below and  no way to exclude an layer out.

yeah i agree. you are right. most of time we just need to apply effect directly to layer or make pre-compose, but when you work on automate side, i will be useful.

Yeah, would be useful, for sure!

 

If you're interested, you could use Workflower (that I coded) to create an adjustment layer to selected layers only:

https://aescripts.com/workflower/

 

Other than that, you could also use a layer you want to exclude as an inverted track matte to your adjustment layer (only if you use AE 23).
