Keep Project Hierarchy when Rendering

In my Project, I always create a Folder called 'Output'.

In that Folder all final Comps are collected in subfolders.

I would love to have te possibility to render this output folder and let Ae re-create the complete project hierarchy on my disk. Now I have to do that by hand, or specify subfolders as output folder over and over.

I am upvoting this idea as a separate menu command and/or an extra option checkbox for File > Dependencies > CollectFiles..

Usually, I have projects with many scenes, props and characters, and sorting those in Project pane is already a challenge, however, if I have to transfer the project to some other location then CollectFiles just puts them into Footage folder, where all the footage management is lost.

Thanks, but that is not exactly my request. My request is not about collecting files, but about rendering/outputting files in the same hierarchy as the Ae Project.

E.g.: My project has a folder called 'Output'. In there, I made subfolders: Output/Bumpers Output/Wipes and Output/Titles.

What I would love, is to tell After Effects where I want my rendered files to appear, and than let it create the exact same hierachy on my disk, where the renders will be placed.

Sorry, my bad - it wasn't that obvious from the initial post what your idea is. Now, I understand what result you want, however, it still isn't clear how do you define the output folders hierarchy in your project.. from what I got, the request of replicating to the hdd the folders from the Project panel, it doesnt seem much different from what I was describing, except your aim its use is somewhat different.

I am sure you are aware that currently it is already possible to assign the destination templates for your output sequences - those will be created upon rendering, some sort of automation is already there. Isn't that enough for your needs?

If it is a matter of just having some standard folder structure for every project, then you can use a simple batch file.

Meanwhile, what I meant was with more deeper consequences of relocationg the sourcefiles, specific folder creation included.

To keep it simple:

1. I want to define an Output Folder per Project (and preferrably Output modules as well, for animations and stills).

2. I want Ae to create the hierarchy of my Projects Output Folder in that Output Folder on the output location at render time, and render the files accordingly

Ae should warn when the hierarchies are not equal, and give a solution to add / merge / overwrite or relocate the Output Folder.
