Adding Music

I wanted to add music from my itunes account to a project I made but it says its not supported. How do I add music from itunes or other songs I want?

You can just drag a song from your iTunes library to the desktop. If the song is an MP3 it is a good idea to convert that to wav or aiff format before using it production. There is no way to drag a song from iTunes directly to AE, you'll have to create a duplicate.

If you're using the Mac version of iTunes, select the track and the go to File > Show in Finder.  If this is not available, then it's not a track that you can use outside of iTunes.  If this is available, you can go to the file and drag and drop it into your AE project.  (Or better yet, copy it to where you are storing source footage for your current project and then import it.)

 

A workaround (and probably a violation of the music licence agreement) is to use something like Telestream Screenflow set to Record Computer Audio to record the track.  Export that to the Lossless - Audio Only preset and import the resulting .AIFF file into After Effects.
