Howdy folks! When you hover your cursor over the links in the navigation bar in Alien Universe | Official Alien Movies Fan Hub – Join the Crew!, there's an effect that plays out similar to the decoder effect, but looks cooler. It cycles through letters as well as numbers. I know there's a way to achieve this, but going through the effect options and messing around with expressions for hours has proven futile. Can a kind soul lend me a hand with this? I'm trying to achieve this exact effect.
There is an animation preset which do this - maybe combined with the typewriter-preset. It should cycle through numbers as well - isn't it?
I had an expression which was similar - I think you need "fromCharCode(n)" where n is any ascii number you want - but it turns out very slow compered to the animation preset.
I've tried working out a solution with the decoder and the typewriter preset but still can't replicated that animation. I'm a complete novice with expressions, so if you could help me out with using "fromCharCode(n)" to achieve the look I'm going for, I'd be thoroughly grateful.
