After Effects - Audio - Lags/Slowmo, help?

Hello. Im trying to render a timer with some audio, but the song seems to be laggy in a slowmo kinda way, at certain parts of the song it gets slowmo for some reason, is there anything to fix this? I just want my song playing like normal. Thanks, and yes, im new to after effects.

You need to be much more specific and provide exact info about your system, version of AE, render settings, type of sources used, composition setup and so on. Even the way you review the rendered file might be relevant since different media players may handle things a bit differently.

The audio isn't all that crucial to what you're doing.  You start the timer at zero, and you stop it when the music's over.  Pretty straightforward.

But to hear the audio at speed, you need to PREVIEW.  Keep your mitts off the space bar!  Hit zero on the numeric keypad and let AE do some thinking.  You're not dealing with a video editor, you're dealing with an effects, compositing, animation and motion graphics application.  Two different animals that work in different ways.
