After effects is Freezing/crashing with 8gb ram?

Is After effects freezing with 16gb? cause i want to uprade my Ram.

 

In other Hand i can combinate with 16gb + 8gb is it not enoug with only 16gb.

 

Can anyone help me ?

AE needs at least 8GB of RAM, but Windows easily takes 4GB, too. With a total of 8 GB, freezes are no wonder.

Upgrading the RAM is a good idea here. You can combine 16+8, but having identical RAM latches in use is always more adviseable.

Is 8gb + 8gb ok, too?

Than i buy a m2 ssd with 128gb for user folder ?

Or better go with 16gb +8gb?

Get the exact same ram module - you can read the part number with cpu-z or other tools like this - so you minimize the risk of compatibility issues.

For serious AE work, 32GB Ram is better, tough.
