After Effects: Strange Text Font/Outline

Hello everyone, 

I was trying to do the text tracking in After Effects with the 3D camera tracker. Once I chose the spot to place my text I right-clicked on it and selected "Create Text and Camera". But then my text looks very strange as you can see in the picture below. I have tried everything. Changed the font type, font size, stroke over fill, and fill over stroke but nothing changed. I hope you can help me out with this.

Thank you! I changed the render to classic 3D and now it looks like this:

That is just a very odd font that has been extruded. If you want to give the extruded text layer some dimensionality add an ambient light at about 25% to 35% brightness and a point light or a parallel light behind and above the text layer frame right and fairly high to give some shape to the lettering.
