Camera Tracking, Null not tracking

Community Beginner ,

Hi, I need some help here. I'm not so sure what I'm doing wrong.

Here are my steps:

1) Click on Camera tracker, waited for the footage to be tracked.

2) Selected 3 points on a surface, created a null and camera.

3) Placed a Polaroid picture in timeline as another layer, made it 3D

However, the Polaroid does not track.

4) Removed Polaroid picture from timeline.

5) Clicked on Null layer in the timeline and realised that the null was not tracking but stationary throughout the clip.

I've tried pre-composing the footage and it still does not work. Most of the tracking points looks good and fixed on my footage.

My footage is the opening of a door revealing a baby crib and a bunch of stuffed toys in the room. There are no tracking points on the door. Please advise!

Okay nevermind I managed to figure out the issue. For those of you who have the same issue of not being able to track their null and additional layers to the camera tracking, DO NOT do this via dynamic link. Unfortunately you have to export your individual clips and open up a fresh window of AE and it worked.

Here is a clip of the original footage,

Also, I'm working on this footage through Pr's Dynamic link. Not sure if that affects anything.

Have you linked the polaroid pic to the null?

By this I mean have you parented the polaroid with the null being set as parent?

Yes I've tried that but the polaroid was still fixed on my screen.

I found this to be an issue when using a Dynamic Link along with changed attributes within Premier e.g Scale, Rotation, Speed Ramp, Reversed Clip. To ensure a successful track without having to export your clip, firstly  Dynamic link the clip, with out any alterations on it. Hope this helps!

I had the same issue, and yeah basically it was cause I right clicked in Premiere and did Replace with AE Comp. It appeared to track, but the Null didn't move and 3D objects didn't move. I had to make a new AE project and just go from there. It's ridiculous that this bug was reported in 2018 and it hasn't been fixed. It's extra annoying cause it's difficult to troubleshoot. Typical Adobe.
