I'm working with a template from Motion Array, I can edit everything, except there are a few things I'd like to change but try as I might I can't figure out how to.
The template is of a stylised Gallery.
What I don't want are the distored circles around the image (see attached).

It's likely some displacement effect, so look for instances of the Displacment Map effect or the alternate Time Displacement effect. Other than that of course it could always be your footage being sliced and evewr so slightly offset in a pre-comp with masks and/ or using time-remapping on the different slices.
Ok I feel really silly now. It was just footage sliced up, but the layer were hidden. I actually didn't know about that little hidden symbol. Thanks for your help!
Open up the flow chart and look for layers with effects, then turn them off.
I took a look at the template and it's awfully amateurish. The workflow is way more complicated than it needs to be and adding your own footage is ackward.
