When selection 2 layers and hitting cmd+c im copying them. Then i go to another composition and hit cmd+v and paste them there. Can't see the red layers in timeline or anything new in screen. What should i do. I'm stuck.
Your top composition is longer than your second. AE is indeed pasting these layers (as evidenced by them appearing in the layer stack), but they're pasted at the same time in this second comp (just how copy/pasting of layers works) - which is beyond the duration of your comp.
You'd either want your second composition to be long enough to compensate, or you can bring these two layers to the current time by pressing Alt/Opt + [

Hi tammenterho,
That looks strange. Ideally, you should be able to copy the layers from one composition to another. Try resetting the preferences: Reset After Effects Preferences | Welcome to kevinmonahan.net
It will make the settings default in case they are malfunctioning.
Let me know if this works.
Thanks,
Shivangi

As Kyle say this is the best solution but i want to add one more solution to past the layers in the same in point, you can simply drag this layers as it is together to the beginning of the composition than copy them and past it inside your second composition

* Personally, I like making my comps several seconds longer than I actually need them to be, to accommodate for this, potential for extending duration, etc. Using Shift + the numbers along the top of your keyboard allows you to drop numbered markers in the composition timeline, and you can jump to any of those by pressing the corresponding number. I like using 0 as my "End" marker for comps.
