Hi borhaml40842417,
Sorry to hear about this!
Do you have any third-party plugins for After Effects?
Thanks,
Rameez

Hi Rameez,
Thanks for replying back so quickly 🙂
Yes I have a pretty much a lot of effects on my machine. Do you think some effects cause problems? Also I realised that that project was made in 2015. It could be the old version, I have 2019/2020 after effects. Do you think this also causes problems?
Thanks again,
Borham

Hi Borham,
Yes, third-party plugins could cause this problem too. Remove the plugins temporarily and see if that fixes the problem. Does the project open in After Effects 2019?
Thanks,
Rameez

Hi Rameez,
I'm using the 2019 and 2020 version but I still can't open both.. Do you know normally which plugins cause problems? As you can see my company bought a lot of effects so It's difficult to remove all plugins and try to find which one got issues.
Thanks again for your help!

Hey Borhm,
Sorry for my delayed response!
I'm not asking you to delete the plugins permanently. You can disable them temporarily and enable them in groups. After finding the problematic group, you can then dig deeper to find out the exact plugin from that group that stops the projects from opening.
To remove the plugins temporarily, navigate to Applications > Adobe After Effects 2019 or 2020 > Plug-ins and move all the plugin folders to your desktop. Then start putting groups of folders back to the Plug-ins directory until you get the error. Please note that some of the plugins are also stored in a common MediaCore folder at this location: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0
If you don't want to get into the hassle of doing it yourself, I'd recommend that you contact 1:1 support and a chat agent can do it for you.
Hope this helps.
Rameez
