Export animation to sprite image?

New Here ,
Apr 01, 2021 Apr 01, 2021

I have an animation in After Effects wich I need to convert to a sprite images, similar to the attached image.

Can this be done? At the moment im exporting a giff and using a seperate tool to conver the giff to a sprite, but im hoping there's a better way.

If this is possbile, can you manually change the frame rate (number of seperate images within the single sprite file)?

Normally I export to PNG sequence, then load them as stack in Photoshop and run a script to create a sprite file. There may/should be more streamlined way for this 😄

One image = one frame. Everything else is basic AE stuff like using time-reampping or framerate settings to quantize animation and control durations. This has nothing to do with the sprite sheet itself. You may want to brush up on your understanding of AE basics. That said, as far as exporting goes I think there used to be a bunch of scripts to facilitate the process on AEScripts, but otherwise simply exporting an image sequence and having it be compiled in any image editing app clearly is trivial. That and even Unity has a tool for this already to do it directly in the game development environment, if I remeber correctly. No need to make it more complicated than that.
