Graph Editor Stuck

Sometimes in the the graph editor some properties are automatically selected and I can't deselect them. Any ideas why and how to deselect?

You have clicked on the "Add to Graph Editor Set" button for several properties and those the ones showing. It looks like a little graph and is located between the stopwatch and the property name. The ones that are blue are selected. So, your options are; either turn all of the blue ones off, or, At the bottom of the Graph Editor is the view button (eyeball) in there you can deselect the option to Show Graph Editor Sets.
