How to counteract the bowing effect on CC Cylinder

Participant ,

Hello-- I hope there is a simple solution to this.. I am using the CC Cylinder effect to animate this text rolling around the long cylinder you see below (e.g., think of text on a pencil, for example).  However, note that when the text is more than just a trivial number of characters, you start to see a bowing effect on the ends.  Might there be a way to counter this with some other effect?

Note that my goal is to create a MOGRT where I can dynamically define the text.

Thx in advance.

You are just seeing the normal perspective created when you have a camera close to a subject. Move the camera farther away. The farther away you move in Z the straighter the ends of the cylinder will be. You will have to adjust the size of your pre-comp and the scale of the text layer to compensate.
