Need Help with Bounding Box (AE)

I am having problem getting the bounding box to show the right size.

when i click on the CMD - SHIFT - H, it shows the bounding box the size of composition, and not the layer (in this case 'joystick'). 

It used to show boounding box around my layer, but now it's just size of my composition and i don't know how to change it back.

That entirely depends on how you imported the files and apaprently you didn't use the "Layer size" option for your artwork. On the other hand of course your gradients could also already have caused some flattening in Illustrator itself, resulting in artboard-sized layers. Either way, not an AE malfunction, just a import/ export thing you can easily fix.
