Lets say I have 3 different video files that are about 30 minutes long each and lets say that each of these videos has a 5 minute segment that i want to cut out and use. I already have cut down the 5 minute sections, but I've done it separately because opening all the untrimmed videos together slowed down my computer too much. Each of these clips are saved as separate After effects projects. How do i take each trimmed 5 minute video segments and put them all together in one video?
I've tried importing them, but it imports the whole 30 minute video. I've tried simply selecting the clip on the timeline and copy and pasting it all into one file, but that doesn't work either. Please help.

Hi
If you have each of your 5 minute videos on different AE projects, then you must open one of these projects and import the others into it. Use the same option as always to import files, but now select the After Effects project and insert the compositions you have inside them. So you have them ready to use and 5 minutes each one.
Regards!

You're using the wrong tool for the job. You need a video editing application like Premiere Pro, which is made for what you're trying to do -- edit.
Unlike After Effects, which STINKS at editing -- it's a multi-layer effects, compositing and motion graphics application. A totally different application, unfit for anything other than its intended purpose.
