preset folder glitch -after effects cc 18-

Hi! I've been having a problem with my presets folder when I type in certain letters like when I need a slide transition and type S the whole thing glitches (shown in the pic) and I can't find any tips on how to fix it. I end up having to get off the application completely to fix it but still the letter glitch happens. any suggestions?

Have you tried to reset your workspace to default.

You can also see, if resetting preferences does the trick.
