Best laptop for current version of Audition

I've been using audition for a decade now on PC. Now having two kids I am not able to get to my PC to do some of my audio work when I am home, so my idea is to get a good laptop to take to work with me that will run the current version of audition with zero problems. What is out there that will perform well without possibly breaking the bank.

My intention is to use a 4TB external hard drive to keep my mixes on and open projects from there, and when Im finished with something, transfer it to my PC for post production when I can get to it. Also a wireless mouse and possibly a Number Pad combo.

The simplest answer is the fastest CPU you can afford with the most RAM you can afford

My advice is to not use an external drive unless the transfer speeds are as fast as the internal one and even then I would opt for a fast internal drive and use the external drive as backup YMMV
