Since Audition's channel labeling has nothing to do with 7.1, the mapping defaults can't possibly be wrong! If you create a multi-channel wav file, then you can nominate any channel to any output you have available, simply by right-clicking on the number at the end of each waveform:

But this is not inherently anything that's supposed to match up to any standard at all. Neither will any file you create like this be able to be mixed easily.

Don't you think it is time for Adobe to determinine if they are all in in the audio/video software/production business? Audition is weak and needs to catch up..

Currently there is no option to set Audition to produce surround in anything other than a 5.1 format, I'm afraid.

I was able to create a 7.1 default in audition waveform mode for my needs. the only issue is mapping for audio output. The audition mapping defaults to not meet the standard.

    What should I use for

    7.1

    LSR

    RSR

    7.12

    LTS

    RTS

for the sake of demonstration (see Attachment) used LSD and RSD
