P: Bridge v16.0 drag drop on macOS dock does not work

Hello.

I just updated Bridge to 2026 - running Mac OS 14.7.

Prior to the update, I was able to drag a folder of images from Finder to my Bridge icon in the taskbar and it would open that folder. This no longer works.

This old process was super efficient. Now to open something, I need to double click through MANY folders within Bridge to get to what I need.

Hi,

The fix for the issue is available in the latest Beta build 16.0.1.15.
We’d greatly appreciate it if you could give it a try and share your feedback with us.

Came to say the same: The 'hold Command' workaround does not work when the Bridge app icon is pinned to the macOS Finder Toolbar. Command dragging attempts to add the new item to the Finder Toolbar.

I always access Bridge via the Finder Toolbar as it keeps the app icon close to whatever files I'm working on. Hoping this usecase is considered in the fix. Thanks!

Yes, now you can drag and drop to the Bridge icon in the dock by holding down the Command key. It works on the dock icon.

However, I usually work with the Bridge shortcut icon on the Finder toolbar. In Bridge 2026, I can no longer drag a folder to that shortcut on the Finder toolbar.

I hope this will be resolved in a future Bridge update.

Holding COMMAND does work, thankfully! One thing to watch out for though is that a new TAB opens each time within Bridge which gobbles up resources. So you just have to remember to close them as you go.

This is exactly why I try to stay about 3 months behind in my app versions. But I made the mistake of clicking on "update all" this time. It feels like Adobe now uses us as part of their testing which is so very backwards.

Besides not allowing drag & drop to open photos, Bridge 2026 is also asking an annoying question every time it launches ("do you want adobe to access your files") or something to that effect.

My solution for now is uninstalling and downloading the previous version of Bridge.  Works as intended.

One more thing that has worked for years that Adobe decides to take away from us. Did we get more AI features instead of being able to do this? Oh joy! Glad I wasn't alone in discovering this this morning and it seems there's a fix. I hope it works.

Same issue for me.  Been driving me nuts the past week. How can something like this be overlooked?! Do they not actually test the software with anyone who actually uses Bridge?  Will have to use 25 until this is fixed.  Thanks.

Oh come on! Do better Adobe and let's try not to break some of the most important workflow efficiencies.

Thank you for your quick reply and for looking into this.
I’ve tried dragging folders while holding the Command key, but unfortunately it doesn’t work either.

I really hope this issue can be fixed soon.

Thanks again for your help and support.
