How to use keyboard shortcut to label only one image when looking at sveral images in preview panel

I used to use Bridge's preview panel to compare a few selected images and then use a keyboard shortcut to label only one image. In the latest version of Bridge, if you use a keyboard shortcut to label an image in the Preview panel it now automatically applies to all the images in the preview panel, rather than just the one that I have clicked on. Please help!

Hi, @S.eszterhas, Funny, I've used Bridge since version 1, and I do not remember this capability. But since you used it, it was probably there.

I do know that as long as only one image is selected in the Content Panel, you can easily set the Ratings for that with a single number. No issue or problem. But with two or more, not so much.

Wait a minute, what about "Review Mode" (Command-b)? I just checked, and the frontmost image will get the rating, and none of the other images will get that rating. The one limitation that I see that may kill this is that the size of the frontmost image is limited in size by the User Interface. I tried to see if using the Space Bar might bring the frontmost image to screen size, but that doesn't work. (The downward-facing arrow will kick the image out of the review carousel.)

Let me know if that works for you.

Hi, @S.eszterhas, the issue has to do with what Panel is active when you add the rating. That is, if you work in the Content Panel, Bridge only knows that you working with all of the selected images in the Content Panel. HOWEVER, there's no real way to select one image in the Preview Panel — EXCEPT there is: if you right-click on the image you want to rate/label, you can do that to the ONE image you wish to rate/label, and only that one image will be rated/labeled out of the "x" number of images in the Preview Panel.

Here's a screenshot of right-clicking on an image in the Preview Panel:

Good Luck

Gary, thanks so much for taking the time to help. Yes, right clicking and then selecting from the drop down menu works. But what I am trying to do is just use a keyboard shortcut to do this. Since I am dealing with a high volume of images, right clicking and then having to use the dropdown menu really slows my workflow. I used to be able to just click on the image I want to label and then use a keyboard shortcut, which is much faster. But it seems there is no way to do this anymore in the latest version? BTW what I use this preview panel for is selecting a few nearly identical images and then using the loop to compare their sharpness, or just to see the images side by side to see tiny differences like catchlights in eyes.

If you have any other thoughts or suggestions I would welcome them so much. I really miss this feature 😞

Thank you again!
