Adobe Suddenly Requires iOS Update That My Computer Will Not Support - Subscription Terms Void?

New Here ,

Adobe now requires Catalina in order to work on my iMac, but my iMac is a mid-2010 and will not suppor the iOS update.

I remember reading that Adobe required particular software when I signed up for the Creative Cloud subscription (annual, paid monthly). The software programs all worked just fine on my computer then.

However, I do not remember reading a warning or any explanations for what happens if there is a software update that my computer does not support. Further, when reading through the subscription terms (found HERE), I do not see anything about cancelling or being unable to cancel for an iOS or system update that Adobe suddenly requires.

Since I cannot use the software that I subscribed to based on the terms provided, I would like to cancel and feel that I should be allowed to get out of the cancellation fee.

Is there anything in the subscription terms or contract that addresses this? I'd like to read it, but the link I provided above is the only information about subscriptions/terms that I could find.

  1. No.  Adobe does not suddenly require an update to Catalina.  But Apple will push you to upgrade.   Catalina is for supporting desktop and laptop computers only.
  2. iOS is a mobile / tablet operating system.
  3. No, your subscription terms are not void.

Adobe DOES NOT Require Catalina. But it may require a newer version of OS X than you are running.

I have an iMac from 2011 and have 10.13.x installed on it, and that is the last, newest, version of OS X that can be installed on my iMac and ALL the Adobe programs run fine.

So upgrade your iMac to the newest version of OS X that "IT" can support.

For what it's worth, your Mac doesn't run iOS at all. iOS runs on iPhones and iPads. Macs run macOS. This is really going to mess you up when you Google for info.

Please tell us what has led you to this entirely wrong conclusion. And also the system you actually do run.
