Illustrator 28.7.1 user interface scaling options in preferences not showing up on 4k monitor

Hi,

I've just got a new PC at work and found user interface cannot be scaled.

Under Preferences/User interface I cannot see an option for scaling.

 

I have a 4k monitor and windows is scalled to 150% in display preferences (by default / as recommended).

However, I would like Illustrator icons to be a bit bigger, but I can't do this.

Just by curiuosity I installed an older version of Illustrator (v.27.0) and that works fine and offers the scaling of the user interface.

That made me realise this is a bug/missing feature in the latest Illustrator (28.7.1) that needs fixing.

 

I hope this info will reach them developers and sort this out ASAP.

    Thanks for the swift response.

    Propblem solved. It was something to do with the dedicated GPU memory wasn't enough (not sure).

    As the PC itself needed further attention and setup by the admin. He did some wizardry on the computer. 

    The user interface scaling is back that is for sure.

    Hi @ErvBrand,

     

    Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I can understand how frustrating it must be when a feature like UI scaling doesn’t behave as expected, especially with a new PC and 4K monitor.

     

    I’m currently using Illustrator on Mac, and I can see the scaling option under the User Interface preferences in version 28.7.1. Since you’re not seeing it, would you mind trying a couple of things?

     

    1. You could reset Illustrator preferences to see if that brings back the UI scaling option.

    2. Try setting your system display scaling to 100% temporarily, restart your machine, and see if the UI scaling option appears in Illustrator. Once you check it, you can revert the system scaling back to 150%.
