Adding a worn texture effect to poster designs.

In a lot of contemporary graphic designers work they add effects to add texture and help visualise the printing process/ material used for the physical thing. Can anyone advise on how I could go about getting these effects, heres some examples: Ben Arfur. See the worn edges and slight textures over the top?

I have a poster design that I've created in inDesign and I'm waiting to create the same effect!

Thanks!

Hi,

This is little to do with InDesign.

You will need to create a background graphic in PhotoShop, maybe starting from resources like Stock photos, royalty-free images, graphics, vectors & videos | Adobe Stock  or similar sites. I would recommend you consider spending some money on this. There are a lot of free resources online, but they usually have less choices. It really depends on what you are looking for.

The samples you have in the link you shared use geometrical patterns, maybe consider starting with illustrator, open your design in PhotoShop to 'age' it and insert the result in InDesign as a background. check How to Design a Vintage Poster in Photoshop - YouTube
