Dear Adobe,
Adobe Indesign CC 2024 (V 19.2) is slow in operation or hangs itself (spinning wheel) without the access of internet in Apple M2, Ultra 64 GB RAM workstation. The performance is at its best with internet access.
Kindly give the suggestion, if the internet access is a must for the application's performance. If not suggest the available remidies.

Update to 19.5.
Adobe software looks to the internet to startup the first time to verify a user account, but afterward it does not need to have internet access.

Welcome to this user-to-user support forum.
Once the application is downloaded, you don't need the internet to run InDesign. Adobe checks occasionally to ensure you are up-to-date with your payments. Your issues are untypical and your system seems adequate. Maybe reset the InDesign preferences back to the factory defaults, which you can do under the General Tab in Preferences. If that doesn't sort out the problem, come back for more suggestions (but let us know if the reset does sort it out!).

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing performance issues with Adobe InDesign CC 2024 (V 19.2) when offline. It must be frustrating to deal with slow operations and crashes, especially with such a powerful setup.
From what you're describing, it sounds like the application runs smoothly with internet access, which is good to hear. To address your concern:
InDesign requires internet access primarily for license verification and updates. Once verified, it shouldn't need a continuous internet connection to function. The issue you’re facing when offline is not typical.
As Mike suggested, updating to the latest version (19.5 or newer) might resolve performance issues. We frequently release updates that include bug fixes and performance improvements.
As Derek said, sometimes, resetting InDesign preferences can help resolve unusual behavior (https://adobe.ly/4cOWuBX).
Run in safe mode to ensure there are no other background processes or software conflicts that might be affecting InDesign’s performance.
If updating and resetting preferences don’t solve the problem, please let us know, and we can explore further solutions. I hope this helps improve your experience with InDesign!
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Hi All,
Adobe Indesign will work only with internet connection. All the suggested solutions tried. BTW we are using Adobe Indesign on MAC.

You only need the internet to download the application, Adobe checks using the internet periodically to see you're up-to-date with your subscription, so you don't need it to use InDesign – you're mistaken in your assertion.
