how do I unlock a single Indesign object?

There must be a way! Why on earth can I only find an option to 'unlock all on spread' rather than just a single item? What sense does it make to take this away? I can't be the only one with multiple locked items in a document only wanting to unlock ONE! If you wanted everything unlocked all you have to do is 'Select All' and then 'Unlock'... why did that need it's own command and to replace the simpler version? What a huge, time-consuming PITA to have to reselect the numerous items and re-lock them! I hope someone can tell me I'm wrong and that the single unlock is buried somewhere else... if not, maybe someone can explain the rationale for taking it away...

If you have Frame Edges showing, you can click on the small lock Icon on the object.

If not, you can still unlock individual objects from the layers pallet.

Locate the object(s) in the Layers panel and unlock it / them there.

Thank you for posting this.  I am converting my manual output templates to InDesign CC and I was SO used to the single unlock feature under the Object Tab.  There are quite few objects that I never have to unlock (press ink and registration targets, plate punch marks, printrun text boxes for printrun IDs, bend line indicators etc.)  I have been finding myself just unlocking all then, once my selected items are deleted, just selecting all and locking the rest all back up again (being careful not to have accidentally move anything in the mean time.  It would be nice if the delete selected items was at least moved to the right-click menu.  Maybe someday.  Anyway I will get used of the new way.  Thank you again for posting this question and thank you for the answers.

I know this is an old post but I agree. I found this frustrating until I realized you can do it in the layers panel. It still should be added to a right click except of course a locked item doesn't 'light up' or show when you click on it unless you have borders showing, which I do not.
