InDesign 2020 15.0.2 'Application Not Responding' every time I open it straight away. MacOS Mojave.

Hi all,

 

Need help badly please.

 

Am on a deadline for my publisher & have lost a week because everytime I open my book file InDesign freezes - the wheel spins & icon in dock says 'Application Not Responding' when right clicking.

 

It continues to do this.

 

I spoke with Adobe on the phone & the guy changed font so no longer Helvetica. This helped for 2 mins, then it just kept crashing.

 

Can someone help please?

Two other points, do not include personal details, like your email address, on this public forum.

 

Always make backup copies of your documents – and do the occasional Save As and incrementally name the file (filename1a.indd, filename1b.indd and so on) to clear out the crud that builds up to stop file corruption.

Do you know how I can change my username?

It automatically regisered my email as username also.

See if resetting your InDesign preferences helps:

1) Close InDesign
2) Double click on Adobe InDesign's icon to launch it
3) QUICKLY hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift. (for Windows) or CTL+OPT+CMD+Shift (for Mac OS X)
4) When a dialog appears, ask you “Delete InDesign Preference Files?” Click Yes.

Hi Derek,

 

I've tried that over & over & the window isn't appearing.

Any further clues? I cannot get it working.

 

I've tried all the things on here & nothing is working.
