Is there a way to identify characters / spaces punctuation / etc.?

Just wondering if there's a tool that will, for example, let us select a dash, and it will identify which type of dash it is?

I see that Unicode appears in the Info palette, but it doesn't actually say what it is, especially in relation to selecting special charachters from within drop-down menus.

thanks!

You could open the Glyph panel and copy-paste the character into the field, and it will highlight what you have? Then hover over the character and it will tell you what it is, in this case an em dash.
