regarding not seeing ~/Library, navigate to your user folder and then use cmd-shift-<period> to show hidden files.

Solved changing the permissions

I don't find the folders under the user, I make the changes in root/Library. The version will not work, the problem is the same.

Here is the workaround for resolving the issue of Lightroom Classic 12.3 not launching on macOS:

Manually change the permissions on the following folders and on all the items in these folders to Read & Write for the current user, so that Adobe applications are able to write to these folders when opened or during use:

/Users/[user name]/Library/Logs/
/Users/[user name]/Library/Logs/Adobe/

Google translation: "LrC 12.3 does not start on MAC M1.  LeC 12.3 does not start on my MacStudio MacOS 13.3.1. After the start, an error message appears immediately. after falling back to LrC 12.2.1, LrC starts again immediately, tried several times. where is the problem here?"

Please post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the error message so we can see exactly what's happening.

Hi all - I'm on a PC, but haven't been able to launch my Lightroom Classic since the 12.2.1 upgrade. Initially I tried deleting the metrics.json file, and have since upgraded to 12.3, reinstalled, tried the reset preferences option, and still no luck. I'm on a new XPS 15 9520 with plenty of memory. And, it was working smoothly before the upgrades. Please help!

I am having trouble getting the latest and greatest version of Lightroom Classic up and running.

The installation goes fine but when I try to start LRC, the banner is displayed, the intiation stops and the my Mac throws up an error.   I talked to an Adobe Tech. yesterday and he re-installed the previous version of LRC but I lost all my presets and my external editor links, his closing response was 'its a bug'.

I am running Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1 and I have been able to run the latest version on my Mac using a different logon, so it did install ok but for some reason it won't run on my standard account.

Which I must say on hindsight tee'd me off a bit.  I am paying for a product that is now out of date and if there is a bug, I would like to know when Adobe are going to have it resolved.

Is there anyone out there with the same problem and if they had resolved how did they do it.

John

"I have been able to run the latest version on my Mac using a different logon"

That likely means your 'standard' Mac User account is corrupt.

It's an admin account and all the other Adobe apps run ok, it's a rights issue of some kind I would like a pointer on how to resolve it.

Try logging into another Mac user account (you should make a new one); does the new version work?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting*), does the new version work?
* How to start your M1/M2 Mac in Safe Mode
On your Mac, choose Apple menu () > Shut Down.
After your Mac shuts down, wait 10 seconds.
Press and hold the power button until the startup disks and Options appear.
Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
