In the market to grab a new upgraded laptop. The lack of support for this is the only main thing dissuading me from going on ARM, as it is my most used application on my Windows machine.
Don't do it. Think of all your cataloguing. I foolishly bought one with snapdragon chip. Luckily for me the laptop was faulty and I was able to replace it with an Intel chip.
So back to lightroom classic. You can use lightroom cloud which is still very good. But it is missing those crucial cataloguing elements.
If buying a new laptop I would avoid the new ARM ones as there are other programs that won't work either like ON 1 and Topaz
I have a new PC (Surface Laptop) with a Qualcomm CPU, Snapdragon 12 Elite and installing LrC doesn't work. According to the support info, ARM CPU ́s are not supported. I'm using WIN 11 ARM64 24H2, which actually includes an emulation. A way to install LrC on this type of PC should be found urgently.
The Slideshow Module is broken on my Windows 11 ARM64 PC.
I have been told that the error message imndicating that the "Dynamic Link Media Server failed to launch" is due to this PC being an ARM64 device and that the Intel-based version of LrC 14 0.1 will run on these PCs but it will have problems. Apparently that is what I have enocuntered depsite doing the various uninstalls/reinstalls that Adobe support had me try.
Have others encountered similar problems?
Having to pay a subcription app that has a very important module not working at all is very frustrating and disappointing. The Slideshow Module would seem to be a very important module in an image management application.
I am in the US and am running LrC on a Surface Pro 11 ARM64 machine. For the most part, it works, and, as I understand it, it is in an emulation (Intel) mode. However, the Slideshow Module does NOT work as the "Dynamic Link Media Server failed to launch."
@Adam_Poliak3353P: "Hey man I am about to purchase Samsung Book 4 was it already fixed? Can you install LrC there?"
It's still the case that Creative Cloud will only install LR (Intel) on ARM devices in the US. Some people have had success manually copying the Intel installation from another computer.
The Map module works in my LR 14.1 (Intel) / Windows 11 (ARM) running in a Parallels virtual machine on an Apple Silicon Mac. (But I get the Dynamic Link Media Server Failed To Launch error in Slideshow.)
After multiple sessions with support, it seems clear that the LrC import no longer works on Windows 11 ARM architecture. I tried from Camera, from SD and even from hard drive. The import get stuck, sometime after ~150 photos, but most of the time from start. I already have a case. Cannot have any status or acknowlegement if it's a bug or not. Can someone help?
After rebooting but before uninstalling and reinstalling, when I started LrC and went to the Map module, I saw a quick burst message`saying something to the effect of "Unable to connect to the Adobe Servers ..."
I searched Google's AI on this and came across Adobe's "Limited Access Repair Tool."
I ran this and everything seems to be working again.
Not sure why but ...

PS: No change in the Dynamic Media Link business and therefore no working Slideshow module.
The workaround is easy: Exit LR from the Library module and then restart. It may be that in using the "Limited Access Repair Tool", you exited LR from Library or Develop rather than Map, and that's what caused Map to start working again.
