Hi @Generous_view0D45, You're absolutely right, and I completely understand your frustration. Just to clarify — the post was merged by another team member, but due to a glitch on my end, I missed the context and responded without realizing the thread already covered the exact issue being reported. That was my oversight, and I sincerely apologize for the confusion caused. To prevent any further confusion for others visiting the thread, I’ll be removing my previous response. You can stay in same conversation and stay tuned for updates.

Thanks again for calling this out — your feedback is important and helps us stay more vigilant.

Hello - I am having this issue too on a new Mac book pro with plenty of memory. Even if I export just a few at a time. In addition I go back in and update as it requests on each image and a few minutes later it has dropped the heal edit that I have done. It just defaults to 'Some remove edits need updating' It is causing massive delays in my editing time and deliver to clients and I don't know what to do. I have updated lightroom and as I am using a brand new Mac book pro I don't think it is relate to that...

Tried the GPU thing and it didn't work out. I regret updating the app, hopefully they'll fix this soon. Work is taking forever now for such a simple task. 😞

this explains my problem exactly too - and on some edits when I update as prompted it says it can't do it. So I have lost that work. This has happened to me since the last update. This is such a busy time for me I don't know what I am going to do.

Same issue here and its driving me insane. Edit an entire session only to export and all AI masks and remove tools aren't included. I tried moving to catelog to desktop (under another threads advice) no luck. Tried changing GPU (under this threads device) still no luck. Here's my settings. Hoping to get someone on the phone tomorrow since this is really slowing down my workflow at the moment.

I have this same problem even without the recent update to 20250603-0500-10f89fb build. Even with a single file export to jpeg, half the time I will get see that the generative AI removal has not been applied in the preview window just prior to export.

For those who are experiencing this bug, are any of you low on disk space? I'm testing a theory.

Hi,

I'm using Lightroom and the content aware edits that I made is not appearing on my exported images. My device is MacbookPro M1 Max. Left is the exported image and on the right is the edited.

Has there been any sort of fix to this yet? I just finished editing a huge wedding and none of my AI generative remove stuck during export. This is a huge loss of time for me. I'm extremely frustrated.

It shouldn't matter how much space we have or not(it never mattered before when we would do this), this is not right. This is a major flaw in the update. Please fix this. I can't keep anything edited. An entire wedding gallery's AI edits just poof gone. Hundreds of photos. Then, when I try to update with the little yellow circle thing, it doesn't do anything, and where the AI remove was, there is a ! that is yellow. Please, please help.

Thanks for your responses on disk space. I asked because we did make a change in export to try and better deal with low disk situations, but it doesn't sound as if that's a factor here. We are still studying this. We're finding it hard to reproduce (though there's clearly a bug - I don't question that).

Other info that might be helpful:
- Does this only happen with photos that are synced to the cloud? Has anyone seen it happening with files edited in the Local tab?

- For files in the Cloud, if you put them in an album, right click, and choose "Make Album Available Offline", does that help?

I have now experienced this issue for the past two months, and it's both super frustrating and "dangerous" as batch exports are a lottery if the AI-based edits are present or not in the final JPEGs. Thankfully I am a hobbyist photographer and not commercial, but still...

I tend to update Lightroom ("CC") to the latest asap. I also have Lightroom Classic installed, but only used for batch processing based on ISO levels (I can't find an equivalent comprehensive photo sort feature by image attributes in "CC").

I have also tried switching Preferences > Performance > GPU > ... to Off. I am sure that used to work a month ago, but now that's not the case. Sometimes it exports correctly, other times it doesn't.

Please fix 🙏

Additional info

  • System (built-in) Mac Studio HD remaining space: 317.99 GB
  • Working exclusively in local storage mode (I don't sync images with the cloud), the images are stored on an external (RAID 1) drive with 4.54 TB free space. This is made of 2x 8TB SATA HDDs.
