Feature request: having the choice to apply lens-corrections or not

LR has the habit to automatically apply the lenscorrection profile if that comes with the RAW-file.

even in such a way that there is no way to NOT apply it.

There are many situations that you do not want to have the lens profile applied. ( one is when making panoramas, another is if one likes vignetting)

Therefore it should be a choice of the photographer to apply the lens-correction or not, as is the case when the RAW-file does not have the lens-correction information built in.

I would very much appreciate it if the LR designteam finds a way to add this feature.

You already have that choice, unless there is an embedded profile. If Lightroom always automatically applies a lens profile to other raw images, then you must have changed the camera defaults some time in the past to include this. You can turn if off again and then update the camera defaults if you don't want that. To do so, take an unedited image (or press the Reset button), go to Lens Corrections and uncheck the 'Enable Lens Corrections' checkbox. Then choose 'Develop - Set Default Settings' and update with the current settings.

Of coarse I am talking about the embedded profile that has to be ignored.

As in the case of Fuji, nikonZ, Leica and more to come.

Some other RAW converters ignore the embedded profile.

It depends on the make of camera. There is already a choice in the optics panel of Lightroom for Windows/Mac. But some cameras e.g. Fujifilm have built in profiles.
