P: 25.1 Crash Issues - MacOS

Hello,

I updated PS Beta yesterday and it now crashes every time I open it. I have unstilled and reinstalled the app (using the Creative Suite app), but it makes no difference.

I am working on OSX, 13.5.1 Mac Studio M1 Ultra, 64 Gb Ram.

I'll include the top of the error report. Let me know if you need more.

for the moment I have switched back to 24.7.0. That works. However, I now have to endure the extremely long time it takes to open a RAW image from Lightroom again.

You attention would be appreciated!

Hi and thank you for reporting. Before I dig in, could you please update to today's latest release (25.1) and let me know if the issue is resolved or crashes again?

Thank you,

Caity

Dear Caity,
I have just updated from 25.0 to 25.1 and opened a RAW image from Lightroom, as well as one from the OSX Finder. In neither case did PS crash. This update seems to have solved the problem for me.

Thanks for your help!

@Sammy Hart , is your workflow including Lightroom, or just opening any file?

I am using windows and when Beta Photoshop updated to 25.1, every time I open the program I get the same error and it closes. Tried restarting the program, my laptop, and finally installed an older version but could not use the generative fill until I updated. So updated again and same error when launching beta photshop. report sent....

Heard from another user who said:

"Ps (beta) works fine now. It may be that I unclicked the "Rosetta" box in the "Get Info" box."

Would anyone be willing to test this? Also there was an update today, please download the latest as and report back if still an issue,

Thank you!

@Caity.psd Yes, unchecking "Open using Rosetta" solved the issue for me. But now, I'm unable to use any of my 3rd party plugins!

Try turning off "Open using Rosetta" - then open PS, use for a few mins, then quit. Then turn on "Open Using Rosetta" again. Worked for me and I can still use my old plugins, which I have no intention of paying huge upgrade fees for!

Hey Cathy,

Since I am following the malfunction messages, I am still not updating to 25.1. anymore. Even on 25.0. generative fill is not working properly, but I have my ways around it. So in the moment I am still waiting for positive reports on 25.1. before I update PS Beta.

I'm running an M1 Max in my 16" MacBook Pro, OS 13.6 and Photoshop Beta 25.1.  It crashes every time I start it, whether or not "Open Using Rosetta" is checked in the info tab.

Hi all, curious if you are still seeing issues as the OP stated, using the latest Ps Beta, Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.3.0 20231127.m.2415 28b0a5c arm64

And, if you use the latest Ps release, do you also have the same issue? Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.2.0 20231121.r.196 12a6c2a arm64
