Community Beginner ,
May 08, 2025 May 08, 2025

All the files I open for photoshop are showing up as a black page. The layers are clickable but not visible. Screenshot 2025-05-08 at 10.26.53 AM.png

Hey everyone, this issue has been fixed. Please download the latest Ps Beta build to solve this.  Make sure you click the check for updates in your CCD app to pull the down the latest build.

Adobe Photoshop Version: 26.8.0 20250508.m.3068 c202b9a arm64

If you ticked OFF your GPU setting, make sure to turn it back on!

Thanks,

Hi. This update has just been released in Ps Beta (26.8). It turns out that when I open any image file or any other kind of file, the background layer appears in black. I don't know if it happens to anyone else or it's just me.

Adobe Photoshop Beta 26.8.0
macOS Sonoma 14.7.5

The most recent update to PS Beta (26.8.0) generates a "black covering over my image". Going into ACR shows the correct image without black covering, but once back into PS Beta (26.8.0), the black cover remains. When image is saved back into LRc, the image appears OK in LRc catalog.

My system: Mac M3 Studio, using the Mac Studio Display.  Mac OS = 15.4.1

Hi everyone, we see this as well and have the team looking into it. At this time it appears to only effect Mac, is that correct?

A tempory fix could be to turn off your GPU in preferences: Uncheck Use Graphics Processor, restart Ps Beta and see if that works until a new version is released.

Same for me on both desktop and laptop. Photoshop 25 is fine, though.

Ok. It only works by converting the image to 32 bits. Cheers!

When updating the application, everything is black. I closed the application, reopened it and everything is still dark.

PhotoShop Beta 26.8 will not open any files on My MAC OS running Sequoia 15.4.1 All it will do is open a black image. Doesnt matter if its a Tiff or Jpeg file.

Every imageI open is just a black screen now...

the only fix is to disable GPU but it's impossible to work like that.

When I open files to work, I cannot see anything. It's all just a black screen in the main working space. Layers are still there, I just can't see them. See below for what I get.Screenshot 2025-05-08 at 2.56.25 PM.png

Turning off the GPU works. I hope that this is just a temp fix.

After the May 8 update of LrC (ver 14.3.1) and PS Beta (26.8.0), using the LrC "Photo/Edit in/PS Beta" menu command opens the image in PSB, but the image is only shown as a black window. PS 2025 (26.6.0) opens the image from LrC without issue.

you wrote:" turn off your GPU in preferences: Uncheck Use Graphics Processor, restart Ps Beta and see if that works until a new version is released."

Where are these "preferences"? Inside photoshop, or elsewhere????
