P: Generative Fill Button greyed out (age)

After selection is active, I cannot use the generative fill button. It's visible, but greyed out...

I already switched from german language to english without success.. Please advice. Thanks !

Hi

I just downloaded the Photoshop Beta (its the correct version  24.6.0 20230520.m.2181 4e0245f x64)

However, the Generative Fill is simply not accessible. 

It does not matter if its a blank canvas or a pre-existing image.
Any help is appreacited.

I figured it out. You need Photoshop (beta) 24.6 m.2181. Right now, Creative Cloud only pushes m.2174. You need to manually search for new updates to let Creative Cloud know you want to download m.2181.

Go to the Updates panel. In the top right corner you can check for updates manually. After that, you'll be able to update Photoshop (beta) to m.2181.

Or at least that is what worked for me.

Update

From what I understand you still have to trigger Creative Cloud to download the very latest version. So not just the latest version that is displayed within the beta section.

Update manually
1. Open Creative Cloud

2. Open Beta apps within the left menu bar

3. Uninstall any previous installed beta versions of Photoshop (Beta)

4. Don't install Photoshop (Beta) yet

5. Click on Updates within the left menu bar

6. In the top right corner click on Check for updates (it will now find new versions of Photoshop Beta and Media Encoder Beta; or at least it does for me)

7. Install the now actual latest version of Photoshop (Beta)

Check Photoshop (Beta) version
1. In the top menu, go to Help, System info...

2. In the first line it will say Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.6.0 20230520.m.2181
(if it says m.2174, you don't have the latest version which is required to use Generative Fill)

Check your commplete version number. Turns out it didn't d/l the latest version to me. I checked for updates and am currently installing it.

@CShubert  The tooltip does not explain why this feature is disabled. It simply says "Generative Fill is currently not available". This is happening to users regardless of their age, although it would be nice to know where age information is stored. Maybe that's the issue. Maybe some users are miscategorized as being under 18. I don't recall being asked to verify my age when I signed up for Creative Cloud. Where can users access this?

I am confused.  I am over 18 (well and truly unfortunately) and my image is set to 8 bits but the generative fill is disabled.  What am I doing wrong?

Agreed. This may have to do with the age thing.  I don't recall entering my age nor can I find anywhere to edit it.
