Everyone, if you are having issues with Generative Fill, please download the latest beta:

Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.6.0 20230603.m.2196 77b00e0 x64

and restart Ps beta and see if this solves this.

Hi,

My Photoshop is upto date (24.3), I've downloaded/updated Beta Apps and reset all tools - yet the new AI Remove Tool doesn't show up in my PS.  Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so is there a fix?

Many thanks,

Angus

The AI tool is available in the Photoshop Beta release - not 24.3. Its found under the Healing Tools section.

I have downloaded and opened the Beta version of Photoshop and the Remove Tool is missing from the "Brush Healing Group".    Screen save below shows this is the Beta version but the pull-out for the Healing Brush shows the Remove Tool is missing.

Try clicking the three dots further down the toolbar and choose Edit toolbar. In the dialogue that opens click on 'restore defaults'.

I have downloaded the Photoshop (Beta) version but Remove Tool missing.  Tried going into the Edit Tool Bar option (...) in the tool bar and clicked on "Restore Defaults".  No luck.

Hi @Jytte0D45 What version is your Photoshop Beta?

If you don't have 24.5.0, check to make sure you Creative Cloud Desktop App is updated, then uninstall the old beta, sign out of Creative Cloud Desktop, log back in and try downloading again.

Thanks, Kevin for your advice.
Had other problems related to Lightroom as well. Couldn’t update despite the notification an update was available for Lightroom and Photoshop (Beta), but the update button would work and then received message that the program was up to date, which it wasn’t. Eventually resulted in a report sent to Adobe. Coles notes — everything worked out eventually and my programs are now up to date. Thank you!

Hi

There was an update a few minutes ago. I installed it, checked again, now the Generative Fill field is finally here, but.... it's greyed out/inactive.

Hi Meredith,

thanks for this post. I see the Generative Fill button, but it is grayed out. When hovering over the button, it simply says "Generative Fill is currently not available". I just downloaded PS Beta today to try it, and I am on version "Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.6.0 20230520.m.2181 4e0245f x64".

Thanks for any help and advice on how to make this work, please?

Best,

Jean

Hi @Jean H. here are some reasons you may be having this issue:

Why can’t I access Generative Fill?

Generative Fill in the Photoshop (beta) app is only available to users of at least 18 years of age with a Creative Cloud Individual license along with CC TeamsCC Enterprise, and our Educational customers.

For users under 18, Generative Fill is visible but disabled. Also, for non-RGB 8/16 bits documents, the feature is visible but disabled. Hovering over the Generate button will show a tooltip explaining why the feature is unavailable.

Generative Fill is not available in China at this time.

Thank you for the update @Patrick Bu.

Let's try this:

Delete your Ps beta app via CCD

Restart your computer

Install Ps beta 24.6 via CCD, does it work now?

I also noticed, that there are different versions out there. Someone on YouTube said, his version (which works properly) is 24.6.0 20230520.m.2181 4e0245f while mine (I just checked for new updates) is 24.6.0 20230520.m.2181 4e0245f 🤔
