@iSec_1234 it's a known issue, as a workaround hide the contextual task bar

Thanks for the report, @stevenb91886122 and @mino21. Thanks, also, to @Ged_Traynor and @AxelMatt, for helping speed this up. I can reproduce this with the numeric keypad input. I've shared this with the team for review and comment.

Best!

Hello everyone, after updating Photoshop to version 26.9, I started having problems with zooming photos using the ctrl +/- (Num Lock)Windows only.  here is a link to a video so you can understand what the problem is. The previous version worked fine. Has anyone else encountered this?

Photoshop 26.9 zoom via Ctrl +\- (Num Lock) does not work properly

@Ged_Traynor Thanks. Same issue and your work-around helped.

Now to figure out why PS is sometimes freezing/crashing when using the remove tool/brush since the update also.

I don't know if this is a PC issue or Photoshop, but I can't figure it out. Suddenly, using keyboard shortcuts to zoom using the number keypad + / - is over-triggering (zooming many steps for one tap). It works fine using the + / - on the qwerty keyboard top row. This is just the num pad. I have reset my preferences and updated graphics drivers. I don't know what could be causing this, but it's driving me crazy. I have 30+ years of muscle memory using keyboard shortcuts. Any ideas?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Ah, I'm glad I'm not the only one! It was hard to know what to search the community for. I'm hoping Adobe will address the issue properly? I rather like my contextual task bar.

【Windows版】

Photoshop

Thanks for the workaround Ged. Was driving me mad when using the wacom pad as it also zooms when the cursor moves and your still on ctrl.

There is an issue with the zoom to 1:1 in the lastest PS edition - Releasing the Alt key first it zooms out to "fit image". Older versions did not have this issue. tested on more PCs.

Issue:

  • Photoshop version: 26.9.0
  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • PC: Intel I9 13th gen, 64GB RAM, Nvidia 4060

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open an image which is taller than your monitor's resolution.
  2. Hit Ctrl+Alt+0 to zoom 1:1 pixels.
  3. Release 0, then release Alt, then release Ctrl.

Expected result: Zoom to 1:1 pixels and stay in this zoom level
Actual result: Zooms to 1:1 but upon releasing the Alt key, the image zooms to fit.

Problem: Upon Ctrl + Alt + 0 the image zooms correctly to 1:1 pixels, but after releasing the 0 key, the behavior is not consistent:
- Releasing Ctrl first stays in 1:1 zoom
- Releasing Alt first zooms out to fit

The standard shortcut for 100% (1:1) is ctrl+1:

Untitled-1.png

Ctrl+alt+0 seems to work too, but I've never used it. In any case, it doesn't behave like you describe here. It goes straight to 100% and stays there.

Maybe corrupt preferences, which can give very unpredictable and strange symptoms.

EDIT: if you release Alt before the other keys, it's ctrl+0 - which is indeed the shortcut for Fit to Screen.

@NetPixel do you have the contextual task bar opened when performing the above steps, if so try hiding it, I was able to reproduce what you're seeing with that opened

Since the latest update photoshop has some serious buggy behaviour when zooming.

If i press Strg + or Strg - it zooms two times up or down, istead of only once.

And if i zoom out using Strg - and than keep Strg pressed while moving the mouse, it zooms out endlessly until i stop moving the mouse.

Please, Adobe, why do you keep on making the use of the program worse with every new update?

@plojscherEinsatz it's a known issue from version 26.9, which hasn't been fixed in version 26.10, a temporary workaround is to hide the contextual task bar
