P: White squares/Boxes appear

I have been having this annoying problem for several weeks now. None of the solutions on the internet work at all. If this is your first time reading about this problem, these are the solutions I've seen so far (none of them is a real solution, each one causes other problems):

- Uncheck "Use graphics processor" in the performance tab in configuration. Result: It disables the rotating canvas features for Wacom tablets after a couple of minutes or just instantly.

- Check "Deactivate native canvas" and/or "Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)" in technology previews tab. Result: It becomes absurdly lagged, it is useless to work, just moving the canvas makes it go at 1fps.

I also have all my drivers updated (GPU, Windows, Wacom), PS updated, and with priority for the GPU. Is there any real solution for this? I have an RTX 3080 8 GB. This should not happen.

If the "Disable Native Canvas" suggestion doesn't work I would recommend reverting back to an earlier version of Photoshop, at least you can get your work done.

The experts here will try and lay the blame on your GPU, in reality, it comes down to lazy software development, incompatibility, and inadequate testing before release.

Yes. It's incredibly frustrating. Disabling both native and GPU composing makes the whole thing LAG so much. I don't know which one is worse.

I found when using brush (with texture pattern), sometimes the brush stroke will turn out like this. (the preset brushes have no problem)
This brush was made by myself.
This is quite often when I use Photoshop(v25.0.0) in PC (window system), but this didn't happened when I use in Mac (Macbook Pro).

Hey, @Sergio35305293zbtr. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

I'll move this to discussions for now. Does this happen after a specific series of steps?

Does this happen to the exported images that are out of Photoshop? Or does it happen while the image is still in Photoshop, in the Export As window, or on the canvas?

If it happens while the image is still in Photoshop, try this:
Go to Edit > Preferences (CTRL + K) > Performance > Advanced Settings > Disable 'GPU Compositing' & restart Photoshop & check if it helps.

If it happens after the image is exported, where was the original document stored & what is the export destination? Internal or External drive?

Buenos días, tenemos varios equipos con Windows 11 23H2, Tarjeta Grafica Nvidia RTX 3060, controladores actualizados a la ultima versión, y ocurren los problemas que muestro en los videos.

Al hacer zoom aparecen cuadros que no existen, al mover objetos aparecen y desaparecen objetos...

Se dejan unos cuantos de videos.

Tengo este error al usar un RTX 4070. La única forma de solucionarlo es ir a "preferencias > vistas de tecnología > Modo GPU anterior". Activa esta opción. Lo siento si las opciones son un poco diferentes, ya que mi idioma principal es pt-br. Espero haber ayudado.

The issue appears EXACTLY the same as this image shows:

Noticed behavior:

Only appears when using Artboards
Enabling Older GPU mode doesn't affect it
Deactivating native canvas doesn't affect it either
Disabling OpenCL doesn't affect it

How to replicate (easiest method):

Create a new file (in my case, A6 size @ 300ppi = 1748x1240px, sRGB IEC61966-2.1, RGB 8bit)
Create a rectangle (I think I rasterized it)
Add an image in the layer above and make it a clipping mask
Use the eraser to erase a part inside the rectangle
Blocks appear where your eraser strokes are
Stop holding the left mouse button
A bigger block appears where your brush strokes were

Workaround:

Disable GPU Compositing: Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings (Graphics Processor Settings) > Uncheck GPU Compositing

Photoshop uses D3D12 just fine. As I said, the issue only appears in Artboards. Disabling GPU compositing solved the issue, however, that's a workaround, not a fix. I shouldn't have to disable GPU compositing, potentially slowing myself down... Also, disabling the GPU Acceleration entirely doesn't cut it for me, even if it "works".

@HarvesterOfSorrow_ just tested on my system with an Nvidia RTX 3090 with Photoshop version 25.5.1 on Windows 11 and can't replicate the issue.

Can you post your Photoshop system info, in Photoshop go to Help > System Info, hit the copy button and paste the entire thing into this thread.

I don't know what else to do. I activated the option for older GPUs but it is very bad, making it very slow. My GPU is not old, it supports diretx 12, I have already updated the driver but these squares continue to appear

Hard to determine based on information provided. One variable to consider when looking for unusable behavior in graphics is the size of the power supply or PSU. There is an app HWINFO avail for free. I have not used it in years. Has some high reviews and is digitally signed.
