About the Puppet Warp tool, or rather about the mesh of this tool.

Hi all.

I apologize if I'm posting this question in the wrong place.
There is a task, to cut a closed spline in the Illustrator application, into segments that are obtained using the "Puppet Warp" tool, the Photoshop application. The first thing that comes to mind is to export the resulting tool mesh. But Photoshop does not provide such an opportunity. Does anyone have an idea how to do this trick. Perhaps there is a script that makes such a grid in Illustrator?

If you look for more info, there are also several tutorials on how to create such patterns manually and of course you can always use other programs. Inkscape has a similar tool and it's free...

@AnyON

Some of what you say is not clear:

  • Did you do the Puppet Warp in Photoshop or Illustrator?
  • When you say "mesh", do you mean this is an Illustrator Mesh object?
  • What does it mean to "cut a closed spline" into segments?
  • What kind of grid would help you in Illustrator?

Screenshots would help.

Ideally, I would like to see the Puppet Warp tool in Illustrator. Let's say it's already there,  And using this Illustrator application tool, I'm breaking up a closed spline into pieces...

Maybe posting some screenshots or sketches could help illustrate what you mean.

What are you trying to break up – vector graphics or pixel imagery?
