I can't see new fonts that I've installed in CS6 photoshop. I have extracted the fonts from the zip properly and installed into windows/fonts folder. I have closed and reopened photoshop numerous times. I have restarted the computer... still nothing

I know this is an old thread, but I thought my findings might be of use to someone.

I had a similar font issue with Photoshop CS6. I had installed a batch of fonts from the same family, but the bold version would not appear in Photoshop. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling the font family multiple times, deleting the TypeSupport font cache folder (C:/Users//AppData/Local/Adobe/TypeSupport), copying them to Common Files/Adobe/Fonts, etc., but to no avail.

Finally, just curious what the font cache files were (TypeSupport/CS6/*.lst), I opened them in Sublime (to make the linefeeds legible) and noticed this for my font family:

It appeared the different versions of the font were using the same value for both FamilyName and StyleName. And oddly, the bold version's 'StyleName' was 'Regular'.

After changing this value for StyleName in the cache file to a logical value of 'Bold', it finally appeared in Photoshop!

Just seems to be an Adobe CS6 issue / poor font design.

Hi sean-ellery,

Fonts in Photoshop show up automatically once correctly installed in System Fonts library. Please refer Troubleshoot fonts issues in Adobe Photoshop CC, 2015, 2014, CS6, CS5 and let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Akash

NONE of those solutions (I got down to solution 7 as I'm on a PC) had any effect whatsoever

Do you see the newly installed fonts other word processing or image editing Apps?

Which Fonts have you installed specifically?
