Deleting Preferences from older versions of Photoshop

Is there any problem with deleting the Settings folder from older verions of Photoshop in my Preference folder in my OS Library? Specifically, I noticed that my Sky Presets folders are fairly large (about 4GB). I have the folders from Photoshop 2021-2024. The latest versions has more files than the older ones, but the files themselves are the same, image-wise, although the same image file in each year are assigned a different random name. See screenshots. I was doing some housekeeping, and thought that freeing up 20GB couldn't hurt. Or could it?

If you are sure that the same files are in the current version, then that's fine.  Generally speaking, presets are kept for the previous version, and will be removed at the next major update.   What I like to do is keep the files (brush presets, skies, older plugins) in a folder in My Documents, and place a shortcut to that location in the Photoshop preset folder.  This means that when I add presets they are available in both full release and beta versions, and I don't have the worry of losing them during updates, plus they are safe when changing to a new system.

BTW  I just responded to a similar thread. We usually sauggest WinDirStat for locating lost drive space.  There is a similar app for Mac systems called Disk Inventory X
