Is there a way to edit Liquify preferences file (Liquify Prefs.psp)?

I use Liquify while drawing quite frequently. Using "All layers" option as a Backdrop isn't very helpful, because it prevents me from seeing clearly what I am doing. Same goes for no backdrop, because in that case the sketch is shown against a checkered background, which is even more confusing. I want to see my sketch against a white background. So I have to change the "Show Backdrop" option to "Background" every single time I launch Liquify. What I would love to do is to somehow make the "Background" option the default. Is there a way to edit Liquify preferences file (Liquify Prefs.psp)?

Thank you!

Found a workaround solution. In Photoshop Preferences go to Transparency and Gamut and change the Grid Size to None. Now in Liquify uncheck "Show Backdrop". Now instead of a checkered background it will show a white background. And this particular setting will be saved, so no need to do it every time.

Works for me, but may not be an ideal solution for people who find checkered background useful in their general workflow, outside the Liquify tool. Changing this setting in the prefs file would be a more elegant solution. And if Liquify was updated to be able to save the Backdrop options, it would be ideal.
