Hello -

I am having an issue within Photoshop in which a emboss style applied to a text layer disappears when I export the document to a jpg. file.  It also disappears when I flatten the photoshop file.  I have tried to rasterize the type layer but the embossing is still not being retained when I try to export the file.  Does anyone have any

View your file at 100% (actual pixels) before you flatten the image.

(View>100%)

Is the layer style still there when flattening at 100% view?

Actually, this is correct (at least for me). Many artifacts occur when you're not viewing at 100%.

Indeed it is correct. (Actually it concerns magnifications smaller than 100% and the effect becomes noticable only with images that combine certain properties.)

After all the Cache Level 1-bug has gone unfixed for years now.

Could you please post screenshots from before and after flattening taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

Here is a screenshot of the photoshop file and also how the file is saving
to jpg. As you can see the bevel and emboss text layer style is not being
retained when exported. I have tried to reset preferences but am still
having the same issue.

Strange, try with preference reset as suggested. If does not work perhaps you can upload file somewhere and post link to check on our ends.

Hi @heathers13727804 Are you using some type of texture image or pattern on a separate layer so the embossed text (on a layer above that) will show up? Here is a good online tutorial with 14 screenshots that you can check to make sure you have everything set up correctly.

If you have done embossed effects before and everything worked properly, but now it suddenly doesn't, perhaps you can try resetting your preferences with a relaunch to clear things out. Let us know how it goes!
