Photomerge from Photoshop just hangs when I try to use it.

I'm on a PC running Windows 11. I tried using Photomerge first from Photoshop and it just hangs. I tried from Bridge and again Photoshop just hangs. I am using Photoshop 24.7 

So far I tried the all the suggestions in previous discussions on this topic and they haven't helped.

I've noticed a few people never did get a solution to this problem. Has anyone found a fix for it yet?
