Photoshop CC 2017 memory leak or memory management problem

I could be working for a few minutes to half an hour when this problem would start. It can happen with any sized file, or with multiple files open at once or just one. My memory usage would start creeping up, and when it reaches above 70% in the task manager, the slowdown and lag happens in Photoshop as well as the rest of my system. I can sometimes watch it reach 99%. The strange thing is that Photoshop itself is not showing anything like 60-70% usage (at idle, my computer uses about 19% of RAM), often using less than 2 GB of RAM. But I know that Photoshop is the cause of this problem as these extreme memory usage spikes happen only during Photoshop use. Closing Photoshop causes the computer to return to normal within a few seconds and returns my memory completely after about a minute.

During this time, CPU usage can go between 5% and over 50%, though it is usually on the low side.

I've had what appears to be the same issue on my Photoshop CS6. (I bought CC to avoid the issue on CS6.)

I've tried playing around with the performance settings, allocating only 50% memory to Photoshop, disabling font previews, reinstalling Photoshop CC. I have no idea what is causing this and why Photoshop can show as little as 5-10% memory usage when this happens.

Sometimes I can go a full day without this happening.

Here are two snapshots of my task manager right when this just started happening. Notice the spike in less than 60 seconds:

Hi all,

I'm sorry but I've not read all the replies so someone may have told you all how to solve this. The issue is not with Photoshop, that's why when you uninstall the latest version and install an earlier version, the problem remains. The issue is with Camera Raw, so go find an easier version. I use a Canon 5d 4 and I have backdated to 9.12. this still reads the files and has no memory leak issue.

When I told Adobe how to solve this issue, I suggested they email all their subscribing clients immediately as its a big deal, but the idiots haven't. If we had a choice to use a different product, I'm sure we all would. Shame on you Adobe.

Hi, Robby! It seems you are right, after recent updates it's was not possible for me to render 4k videos from photoshop which contained frames with camera raw filters applied to them. All my tries finished with out of memory failures. After reading your comment I deleted the filters and have no problems with rendering.

I know that this is old, but I run into this problem and solved it by deleting fonts. Apparently photoshop and illustrator are using more ram if you have more active fonts which accumulate over time.
