At random times when trying to export to PNG, the resulting image becomes color washed out.

That's most likely because you're not embedding the color profile.

You need to check the box in the Export dialog. This is not set in Photoshop Color Settings.

The basic procedure for exporting web files is Convert to sRGB > Embed the profile > Done. That has the highest likelihood of being correctly represented in the highest number of possible scenarios.

In Photoshop, just keep policies at "preserve embedded profiles" (that's the default) and you'll be fine.

Hi @royalspirit

Welcome to the community; I'll do my best to assist you.

Could you please share the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload to Creative Cloud files (https://assets.adobe.com/files) and share with us?

What settings are you using to export the file?

Ensure that your document's color space is set correctly before exporting. Go to "Edit" > "Color Settings" and make sure the color space is set to the appropriate profile, such as sRGB, for web use. Also, if your image contains transparency and you're viewing it on a platform or software that doesn't support transparency, the picture may appear color-washed out. Check if the background behind your image is affecting the perceived colors.

We're here to help, just need some info.

Best,

Ranjisha
